How to Stay Healthy During the Fall Season

As the colder months approach us, it’s easy to let ourselves get in the “cozy, comfort food” zone. And don’t get us wrong, we are all about warm meals, hot lattes and all the yummy pies. However, keeping a healthy lifestyle is important to maintain during the winter season as well. It is easy to become lazy in our fitness life and in our regular day to day tasks. Today, we want to share with you a few tips and tricks on how to seize each day the healthy way!

Tip #1: Use Seasonal Produce 

As the seasons change so do our foods. It’s important to make sure your body is getting the proper, natural nutrients it needs. Eating in season foods allows for fresher taste and greater quality. It also is much more environmentally friendly. It supports your local farmers, which in the end gets you more quality produce by avoiding long distance transportation.

Tip #2: Stay Active Outdoors

How many times do we forget to get our daily dose of exercise in because we want to stay in and cozy up and watch Netflix instead?  It is so beneficial to stop what we are doing to get some fresh air. Our brains thrive off of it. It will ultimately lead to a better work ethic as well. Plus, it can be fun too! Try apple picking, or strolling through the freshly fallen leaves, or even jog around your local park. Be creative!

Tip #3: Count Your Steps

This goes hand in hand with tip #2. Luckily Fit Bits and Apple watches help us with this one. However, if you don’t own one of those, there are many apps available for download to help remind you to get moving! Plus, at the end of the day it’s rewarding to look back and review how active you were.

Tip #4: Take Time For Yourself
